New Functions for AUTOSAR 3.0

Vector has adapted the complete extent of the MICROSAR Embedded Software to the new AUTOSAR 3.0 standard for the application in series production. Considerable extensions in all basic software modules (BSW) were made, including RTE and the operating system MICROSAR OS. Compared to previous versions, the AUTOSAR 3.0 basic software modules mainly offer:

• simplified configuration of all BSW modules with the MICROSAR Configuration Suite. This was possible due to the improved ECU Configuration Description of the new release 3.0.
• New, bus specific State Manager BSW for the bus systems LIN, CAN and FlexRay. These are responsible for the startup and shutdown sequences of the communication, as well as for error handling.
• better usage of the FlexRay controller's capabilities to disburden the CPU.
• considerable extension of the diagnostic BSW functional extent.
• completely revised Schedule Table (SC1) and Timing Protection (SC2) in the MICROSAR OS.

In anticipation of AUTOSAR 4.0, the option J1939 for MICROSAR CAN in commercial vehicles is available.

The new version 2.3 of the AUTOSAR tools DaVinci System Architect and DaVinci Developer provides optimal support for designing systems or ECU applications according to AUTOSAR 3.0. For the exchange of design data, both tools use the XML formats newly defined in AUTOSAR 3.0 as well as the XML formats of previous AUTOSAR versions. This allows for a simple migration of your AUTOSAR projects towards AUTOSAR 3.0.
