To further enhance software quality, it is useful to use standard software components in implementing diagnostics in ECUs.
CANdesc (diagnostic embedded software component) is the ECU diagnostic software component of the CANdela product family. CANdesc lets both automotive OEMs and ECU suppliers implement the diagnostic protocol uniformly across products.
Diagnostic requirements are captured systematically and uniquely (the CANdela database is filled) with the diagnostic specification tool CANdelaStudio. This CANdela database can then be used to automatically generate the ECU diagnostic software component CANdesc.
